Per HUD regulations (24 CFR Section 982.206), the PHA(s) may close the waiting list when its determined there is an adequate pool of applicants. We will announce the reopening of the waiting list at least 10 business days prior to the date applications will first be accepted. If the list is only being reopened for certain categories of families, this information will be contained in the notice. If you would like to receive an alert by email and/or text message about the next waiting list opening, you can sign up for waiting list alerts at www.gosection8.com/UtahCWL.
The Salt Lake Section 8 Centralized Waiting List is a partnership of 2 Housing Authorities within the State of Utah, Housing Connect (formerly known as the Housing Authority of the County of Salt Lake) and the Housing Authority of Salt Lake City, which streamlined their application process for a Section 8 Voucher. Applicants submit one application to the centralized waiting list system and their application is automatically added to the Section 8 waiting list for both PHAs. Each participating PHA selects participants to their Section 8 Voucher program off of the centralized waiting list in accordance with their local policy.
