Home to fifty-nine households that enjoy the safe environment, services provided, and many community events.
Kelly Benson Apartments are comprised of eight studio, forty one-bedroom, and eleven two-bedroom units and provides homes for 59-70 homeless and chronically homeless individuals.
Using the housing-first approach, Housing Connect places persons who have been living on the street or in shelters for a year or longer—or four times in the past three years—into housing subsidized with government funding.
Tenants of Kelly Benson’s subsidized units are required to pay 30 percent of their income toward rent, with rental subsidy to cover the remainder.
Eleven units are subsidized with Continuum of Care and thirty-seven are subsidized with Section 8 Project Based Vouchers.
Kelly Benson property management staff are onsite to provide easy access for property-related needs.
Kelly Benson Apartments help bridge the gap in affordable housing for seniors age 55 and older with disabling conditions by providing housing, rental subsidies, and supportive services to help ensure successful tenancy. By placing individuals into Permanent Supportive Housing, Kelly Benson prolongs and improves the quality of life for homeless men and women in Salt Lake County.
