Mainstream / Non-Elderly Disabled Voucher Program

The Mainstream Voucher program provides rental assistance (vouchers) to low-income households who include a person(s) with disabilities. The program assists with housing costs of individuals who need rental assistance to remain living independently, or to those who without assistance would remain living in more restricted housing such as assisted living or other institutional setting.

About the Mainstream / Non-Elderly Disabled Voucher Program

This program is designed to help tenants with disabilities live independently in the community. The Mainstream Vouchers must be used to assist non-elderly persons with disabilities and their families.

Housing Connect will provide rental assistance under its Mainstream Voucher program to assist non-elderly persons with disabilities who are transitioning out of institutional or other segregated setting, at serious risk of institutionalization, or homeless find safe, clean, and affordable housing.

Eligibility Requirements
  • Must meet Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program eligibility requirements
  • Be a family that includes at least one person with a disability between the ages of 18-61
  • Provide verification of transitioning out of institutional or other segregated setting, at serious risk of institutionalization, or homelessness
